Library Looks to Fill Board Vacancy

The following is a release from the White Lake Township Library.

The White Lake Township Library Board has accepted the resignation of Library Trustee Barbara Merglewski due to ongoing health concerns.

Since library board members in White Lake are directly elected, voters will have a chance to elect Ms. Merglewski's successor in the township's November 2012 general election. In the meantime, the Library Board will appoint an interim successor to serve until the next election.

Those interested in seeking appointment by the Library Board may apply by sending a letter outlining their qualifications and stating why they wish to serve on the Board. Letters should be addressed to the White Lake Township Library Board and can be dropped off at the Library; sent via e-mail to Library Director, Larry Ostrowski at lostrowski@whitelakelibrary.org; or mailed to the Library at 7527 E. Highland Road, White Lake, MI 48383. The deadline is Monday May 23, 2011. Applicants will be interviewed by the board during their regular monthly meeting scheduled for Thursday May 26 at 6:30pm

The White Lake Township Library is governed by a six member Library Board of Trustees, made up of community members who are elected to the unpaid policy-making position every four years on a nonpartisan ballot. The Board generally meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. The public is invited to attend.
