24 Tires and Rims Taken from Trucks at Highland Dealership
The following information was supplied by the Highland Oakland County Sheriff Substation. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.
A total of 24 rims and tires were taken off six brand new Dodge Ram 1500 Trucks parked in a lot at Szott M-59 Dodge in Highland.
The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 13 and Sept. 15, according to the report filed with the Highland Substation.
The report states deputies were called to the scene when an employee at the dealership noticed the six trucks sitting on cement blocks. There are trails behind the dealership, the report states, and they lead to Duck Lake Road.
Police are currently reviewing security surveillance. The incident remains under investigation.
Man arraigned on Uttering and Publishing charge
Pinang Tit, 27, from Massachusetts, was arraigned Sept. 14 on charges of uttering and publishing after deputies say he tried to spend a fraudulent traveler's check.
The report states Tit attempted to buy several small items at the CVS in Highland using a $100 American Express traveler's check. The check wouldn't go through the register's system, and police were called.
When they arrived, Tit was arrested. The report states that Tit told police he had a total of five checks and had spent them at store in the area of Highland and Hartland.
Deputies said similar charges are expected to be brought against Tit from Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
Tit is being held on a $25,000 cash bond and remains in Oakland County Jail.
