The National Weather Service says we can expect snow, mainly after 1 p.m. and a high near 35. Friday night there will be snow, mainly before 1 a.m. and a low around 12.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Thursday night was $3.41 per gallon at the Meijer gas station.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1996, after three hours, world chess champion Gary Kasparov lost the first game of a six-game match against Deep Blue, an IBM computer capable of evaluating 200 million moves per second. Man was ultimately victorious over machine, however, as Kasparov bested Deep Blue in the match with three wins and two ties and took home the $400,000 prize. An estimated 6 million people worldwide followed the action on the Internet.

5. Church Hosts Singles Valentine's Dance
Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 Harvey Lake Road in Highland, hosts a singles dance for those 40 and older from 8-1130 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.
