Good morning, White Lake and Highland, here's what you need to know about today.

 

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect sunny skies, with a high near 101. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Monday night was $3.49 per gallon at the Meijer gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.47.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, Disneyland, Walt Disney's metropolis of nostalgia, fantasy, and futurism, opens on July 17, 1955. The $17 million theme park was built on 160 acres of former orange groves in Anaheim, California, and soon brought in staggering profits. Today, Disneyland hosts more than 14 million visitors a year, who spend close to $3 billion.
