Large amounts of snow resulted in another "snow day" for area schools including Holly Public Schools, Waterford Schools, Walled Lake Schools, Clarkston Schools and Huron Valley Schools.

More than 130 school districts in southeast Michigan were closed Wednesday, according to various news reports.  

The wintry mix of rain and snow began in the White Lake- Highland area Tuesday afternoon with rain and wind.  

Today's forecast calls for more snow with new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible, according to the National Weather Service.
