Cardboard Classic Cancelled at Indian Springs Metropark
Local event a no-go due to erratic weather.
The Cardboard Classic, scheduled for Sunday, February 12 at Indian Springs Metropark has been cancelled.
“We’ve had a pretty inconsistent winter, and with all the weather changes, we can’t guarantee that we will have enough snow,” said Kassie Kretzschmar, marketing manager for the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. “With all the effort that goes in to making a sled, we hate to see people prepare for this event, only to have it cancelled at the last minute.”
Children and adults were challenged to create a two-person sled of cardboard, tape, paint and glue to race down the park’s sledding hill, with prizes to be awarded for winners of the fastest and most creative sleds.
