Coming Soon: We're Expanding White Lake Patch to Include Highland Township
We're excited about covering both communities, and hope you'll help us spread the good news.
You’ve been telling us you’d like to see more Highland faces and issues in Patch – and we’ve heard you. Very soon, we’ll be adding on to White Lake Patch to include Highland Township.
Many White Lake Township residents shop, work or go to school in Highland. Many Highland residents come to White Lake to shop or eat. Bringing news and information of both communities is the right thing to do.
Here are some of the exciting benefits this will bring to both communities:
- All of the businesses will be part of our extensive community directory, called Patch Places. Business owners will be invited to claim their listing as soon as the site expansion takes place. And readers will have a resource for finding every business in White Lake and Highland.
- We already are covering Huron Valley schools and sports. Expanding Patch in an official way allows us to invite Highland residents to add their own voices to the discussion through Letters to the Editor, Announcements, Events and photos in our Neighborhood Gallery.
- We’ll bring you regular coverage of the issues and events close to home. We’ve already been doing that with White Lake and started doing that with Highland by covering things like the closing of Highland Middle School, and the annual Sparks in the Park event. Now Highland residents will have more of this kind of coverage.
So often we've found that community stories in one town are of interest to residents of the other, so it seems easier to have it in one place—right here on what will soon be called White Lake-Highland Patch.
This is meant to help us provide better coverage of the things that matter to residents of both communities - which is always something we’re striving to do! But as always, if you think we're missing anything, let us know.
If you are one of our Highland readers already, please help us spread the word! Likewise, if you have any news tips, please send them to Local Editor Brooke Tajer.
