A 22-year-old Commerce Township man was arrested Jan. 26 after security at Alpine Valley Ski Area noticed the man taking snowboards from a rack at the ski resort.
According to the report, the first incident happened on Jan. 24. The man told White Lake Township police that he took two boards from a ski rack and sold them the next day to Play It Again Sports in Novi.
On Jan. 26, the man returned to Alpine and, police said, took two additional snowboards.
The report states that Alpine security stopped the man as he was walking away with the last snowboard. Security held the man until police arrived.
Once police arrived, the man was arrested and taken to the station.
According to the report, during questioning the man told police that he had taken the other snowboards and sold them.
The two snowboards taken on Jan. 26 were returned to their owners. The owners of the other snowboards were going to get the boards from the Novi store, police said.
Following questioning, the man was released by White Lake Township police pending the issuance of a warrant for larceny.
