Highland Results: Meet Your New Supervisor Rick Hamill

Rick Hamill (R) won the general election and will serve as Highland Township Supervisor for the next four years.

 

The results are in, and while unofficial, residents in Highland have elected Rick Hamill (R) as Highland Township Supervisor.

With 8 of 8 precincts reporting in Highland, Republican Rick Hamill garnered 68.96 percent of the vote, while Democratic challenger Doug Bourgeois earned 30.78 percent of the vote.

The Highland Township Library Board will also see a new face with Christina Hamill being elected to the board, earning 17.85 percent of the vote.

Despite the large turnout and lines at precincts in Highland. Many voters reported a positive experience Tuesday.

"My wife and I voted at Highland Elementary, and it was, by far, the most pleasant voting experience we've ever had!," Darin Grosser said on the White Lake-Highland Patch Facebook page. "The staff was friendly and efficient ... and they had as many voting 'booths' as they had room for. Thank you for your service!"

Grosser said there were also several teenage volunteers helping out at the precinct, "(It was) very encouraging for the future! Their efforts were recognized."

Congratulations to us all....I believe RIck will do a wonderful job as our Township Supervisor....one man can't do it all but I do think he will be a great leader,,,,we have grown into such a great community...keep us rural and park like while helping our local businesses grow....

Congrats Rick! Bummed I live in White Lake and I couldn't vote for you, but was praying! Looking forward to seeing the Highland community grow strong!
