Huron Valley Optimist Club Hosts Family Safety Day

Event draws family from all over town, teaches kids about bike safety and more.

The Huron Valley Optimist Club hosted Family Safety Day on Sunday afternoon at . 

Children from Huron Valley were able to bring their bike in for a safety check provided by Cycletherapy, and ride around a special obstacle course provided by Officer Charles Brandt of the . 

In addition, kids were fitted for bike safety helmets with the assistance of Detroit Medical Center's Children's Hospital, and able to participate in the Michigan Child Identification Program provided by White Lake Boy Scout Troop 326 and the Michigan Masons. Kids also went through a smoke house provided by the Highland Explorers Post 28.

Children and parents were then treated to hot dogs and chips, provided by the Huron Valley Optimist Club.
