The death of a 51-year-old Highland Township woman whose body was found Friday by her 10-year-old daughter has been ruled a homicide, according to reports on the Detroit Free Press' and The Oakland Press' websites.
Both publications cited police sources saying Ruth Anne Pyne suffered injuries to her head and neck and that her body was discovered on the floor of the garage near the rear entry door amid large amounts of blood. There was no evidence of robbery or forced entry, police sources told the newspapers.
The woman's home — in the 2400 block of Burwood Court — is in a neighborhood just off of Hickory Ridge Road.
