Man passed away Thursday morning following accident at White Lake construction site.
Update: Patch has confirmed with the man's family that he passed away Thursday morning. A family member told Patch he was an organ donor and will be greatly missed by his family, wife and two kids.
A 33-year-old Waterford man was hospitalized last week after suffering a serious injury while working on a construction site in White Lake.
According to a report filed with the White Lake Police Department, the man was using a high powered nail gun when it misfired, sending a nail through the corner of the man's eye, and into his brain.
Police said workers saw the man fall from a small platform before getting up and staggering around. The report states the man told coworkers he needed to get to a hospital.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital before being transferred to the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor.
Police Chief Ed Harris said the department was told that the man underwent surgery this past weekend, and was able to get the nail removed from his brain successfully. Harris said last he heard, the man was still in critical condition.
