Police Say Woman Reported Fake Abduction Attempt in White Lake
The following information was supplied by White Lake Township Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.
A 20-year-old Waterford woman was cited for making a false police report by White Lake police on Saturday, after police say she said she was nearly abducted in White Lake.
The woman, according to the report, called White Lake police on Friday at 9:30 p.m. and reported that a man had attempted to kidnap her while she was pumping gas at a local gas station.
The report states that the woman gave a very detailed description of the truck and the man.
Police worked with the gas station and, after reviewing evidence, determined that the incident the woman had reported never took place.
The woman was brought in for questioning Saturday and, the report states, admitted to police she had made the entire thing up.
The woman was cited under township ordinance and released.
