Several Minor Accidents Reported Thursday

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police Chief Edward Harris said icy roads and snow were to blame for several minor car accidents Thursday.

"I can't recall any injuries being reported, but the roads were slick and we had a number of fender-benders," Harris said. "It's important to take it easy when driving in icy conditions, and to keep a good distance between you and the car in front of you."

Break-in reported

A home on the 9000 block of Portage Trail was broken into sometime between Wednesday night and Friday morning, Harris said.

According to the report, a laptop computer was taken from the home.

There is no other information being released at this time, and Harris said the incident remains under investigation.

Vehicles Damaged

Two wrecking trucks from Lakeside Towing were damaged near the 9000 block of Elizabeth Lake Road, according to the report.

Harris said employees with the company noticed chips in the windshields of the two vehicles, and what appeared to be ball bearings on the ground next to the vehicle.

"It's likely someone shot at the windows with the ball bearings and a sling-shot," Harris said.

There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 248-698-4400.

As for the minor accidents, icy roads. True every one should be careful and slow down. But try and tell this to some drivers. They refuse to slow down no matter what the weather condition. I see it every day. Also if you do leave a save distance between the car in fron tof you. some one comes along and cuts in front of you.
