Shy Mike in Need of a Loving Home

A Labrador Retriever Mix is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello everyone! My name is Mike. I'm a handsome Black Lab mix with some white markings. I was born around 1/2012 so I'm still quite young!

Unfortunately, I wasn't socialized very well so I'm timid and shy. I also do sometimes submissively urinate especially if I am being corrected. I need a gentle and patient owner who will work with me to build my confidence. This can be achieved by creating positive situations for me when going to new places and meeting new people.

The staff thinks I would do fine around children but please keep in mind that I do scare easily so older kids may be best. I get along well with other animals and I love to play with tennis balls! When I was tested to see how I'd do with cats, all I wanted to do was to give them gentle kisses.

The shelter environment is especially hard on me so I'm hoping to get adopted soon!
