Talk About Town: How Old is Too Old to Trick-or-Treat?

When you see teenagers trick-or-treating do you gladly give them treats, or do you turn them away? When are you too old to trick or treat?

Amid clusters of impossibly cute costumed kids on Halloween night, you get other trick-or-treaters who don't seem to fit in. Maybe it's that they are older than the rest, or show up in plain clothes with not even a face mask in sight. But is that a deal-breaker, or is everyone welcome to claim candy on your porch on Halloween?

Growing up, I loved trick-or-treating and I was one of those who dressed up and went trick or treating all through high school. I would take my younger brother along as my cover so if people asked why I was out, I simply said I was being a nice sister and taking him trick or treating.

Now that I own a house and pass out candy, I see several teens going around on Halloween gathering treats. I gladly pass out candy to anyone that comes to my door, but I know others who get upset that the older kids go around collecting candy.
