Tractor Supply Company Coming to White Lake Township

The new business will occupy the current Blue Duck bar property.

White Lake Township will soon be getting a Tractor Supply Company (TSC).

The new business will be going in at the current Blue Duck bar location at 10150 Highland Rd.

"We did a store not too long ago in Lyon Township," TSC property owner Chris Kettler said. "Geographically, based on customers in the area, it's the next logical place for a tractor supply."

Last week, the White Lake Township Planning Commission approved TSC's final site plan, as well as a special land use amendment for their outdoor storage component.

Township Planning Director Sean O'Neil said that the next step is to approve the construction plan, which is done at the staff level.

Kettler said the company doesn't yet own the property, but it is under a contract to purchase and he expects to close on it within the next month.

The plan is for the current building to either be demolished or moved, so TSC can be developed on that piece of property.

"We've entertained and talked with White Lake Township fire department on whether they would like to use it for training purposes," Kettler said.

The construction start date is set for late April, according to Kettler.

With a 20-week construction period, the new building should be finished by mid-September. Then the store should open in October.

Although I'm very excited to hear about TSC coming to White Lake I cant help but wonder why with all of the already vacant store fronts, buildings and property in the township why they chose a place of business that is serving a need in the area. I remember when the Blue Duck when it was Almost Joe/'s across the street on the lake. Also played ball behind the current location, it will be missed.

So what will happen to the blue duck? They have awesome burgers and dont want to see them go. Anytime I want a good burger..thats the only place I think of. Will it be relocated. Excited to see a TSC coming but agree with Greg, there is plenty of land around as long as they dont take our woods and build behind me!!

I cannot tell you how excited I am...and my husband! We always have to drive out to Fenton or New Hudson to pick up stuff/supplies from TSC. This is so great!

I can't believe that BlueDuck is being evicted, so it would be helpful to perhaps hear from someone there who can help explain why the place is being sold and apparently demolished. I agree that it seems quite the head-scratcher, given the numerous other sites along M-59 that could have easily served as the building site for a new Tractor Supply store.

I dont understand why they are putting one there! There two feeds stores 10 mins down the road. What about highland feed, gieglers and now peters true value? They will ruin these small buisnesses.
