White Lake Leo's Owner to Open New Location in February
Want to get your Leo's Coney Island fix in Waterford? You're in luck, the Waterford Leo's Coney Island opens at the end of February.
White Lake Leo's Coney Island Owner Jim Christopher is partnering with Rick Shebib, an Air Force fighter pilot, to open a new Leo's Coney Island in Waterford.
According to Christopher, patrons can expect the same great food and service along with some new amenities.
"We are using newer technology with our hot water," he said. "In addition, all the servers will take your order at the table and send it instantly to the kitchen via iPad Minis. This should increase efficiency by 20 percent and eliminate missed questions like what type of cheese, or what kind of toast. We will also have the new Coke Freestyle machine which has over 100 different combinations of soda."
The Waterford Leo's will be the first Leo's location to have the Coke Freestyle machine.
Christopher said he's excited, scared and stressed, but that he and his partner are looking forward to the opening of the restuarant.
"Shebib is great," Christopher said of his partner. "He's in Germany now until July of this year when he retires and moves back to Michigan. He is exactly like me, but he brings everything I lack. I honestly couldn't be happier to have him as my partner."
The new location is currently under construction. It's located at 5076 Highland, at the intersection of Crescent Lake and M-59 near the Family Dollar.
Christopher said hours will likely be Sunday 6 a.m.-9 p.m.; Monday-Thursday 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Friday-Saturday 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
And if you're looking for a job, Christopher said the store is hiring.
"Training will be at the White Lake location starting the first week of February," he said. "We need cooks, dishwashers, bus people, cashiers and servers."

I hate to be negative and wish them luck but they really need to address the quality of the service and the quality of the food. I have eaten at the White Lake Leo's a number of times and will not eat there again. I used to eat at the Leo's in Milford and that was always a pleasant experience, shame that I cannot say the same about the White Lake Leo's. If they want to succeed they need to insure that it has good service, friendly staff and good food.

I've never had a bad meal at the WL Leo's, there are a couple of gals on the wait staff that could pick it up a notch but my only complaint is the dismal condition of the bathrooms, I just pray the kitchen and food storage areas are getting better attention then the bathrooms do!

I agree with Mark J Smith
food issues 3 times when dining with my wife.
each time we hoped the next occurence would be different, but we have now given up and if we want Leo's, we will go to West Bloomfield.

I have always had a pleasant experience at WL Leo's. The owner and staff are friendly and outgoing! Breakfast is my favorite:)
Bathrooms are bathrooms ... Not sure what the expectation is?
