White Lake's Greg Baroni Eager to Continue Work as Supervisor

Starting Nov. 20, White Lake's Greg Baroni and a three new board members will take the helm at the township - the first order of business will be to have balanced budget in place for 2013.
"First of all, I want to thank the residents and voters of White Lake for their support," Baroni said. "We are going to get the new board sworn in at the Nov. 20 board meeting, and start work on several issued facing the township."
Those issues, according to Baroni, include maintaining a balanced budget, and addressing some other issues, like the sewer debt, that has been passed along by previous boards for a number of years.
"The sewer debt is a big issue, and we need to find a solution," Baroni said. "I also want to get a balanced budget in place - a balanced budget is the lifeline of the township and the services we provide. I want to make sure we are providing the best services we can for the residents."
Baroni won his four year term as Supervisor Tuesday night, defeating democratic challenger Michael Smith. Baroni garnered 60.32 percent of the vote, while Smith had 39.28 percent of the vote.

Funny Baroni did not think the sewer debt was an issue in the primary election. He even was quoted in the Patch stating that it was not an issue

That is because there isn't a quote from Baroni stating that he didn't think the sewer debt was an issue. I went back and read the Q & A. Lakeside seems to be part of the mud-slinging crowd and needs some excitement. Please Lakeside, go drown your sorrows at your buddy's bar.

The article in the Patch is called White Lake Township Mulls Sewer Dept Options. Baroni basically claims it is not true that fund cannot repay its debt, he just thinks some changes need to be made to the fund. The changes needed to the fund is money. White Lake Resident it is not mud-slinging when it is the truth. This guy is in over his head and he is not being truthful about important issues. The sewer funding problem has been present for a while yet he did not want to speak about it in the primary. Lets stick to the issues

That quote was after the primary and he said this years payment was not an issue.
I guess cleaning up after past administrations isn't acceptable to you.

I am sticking to the issues. He didn't say it wasn't an issue. He stated that it was fine for 2012 but needed to be looked at so there wouldn't be a problem in the future. Seems like he addressing the issue to me. Maybe Lakeside is in over his/her head.

It seems to say, in my opinion, that this thing has been around for a long time but this year is paid for. The quotes also say that there needs to be some changes made to the way this fund has been handled in the past to keep it going in the future. So it sounds like he is meeting the challenge head on and will work with the board to make those necessary changes. I dont however see anything in that which makes me think the Elected Supervisor is in over his head at all. It actually looks like democracy at work. So instead of being bitter and attempting to derail our township government maybe you should use that enormous overload of intelligence and come up with an outstanding suggestion that may be used to fix everything to your satisfaction.

Let's see, for starters I would not allow Lilley to give the presentation. He was the one that signed the bad deal with Commerce on the sewer system. I addition to the poor economy, a major reason White Lake is not getting the sewer taps is because the Commerce fee ($4,800) is too expensive. As Mr. Powell stated, White Lake residents are paying like they actually have an ownership stake in this system. How do you come up with about $2.2 million over six years. Attend the presentation, I was at the first one.
