Curson Wins Partial Term for 11th Congressional District

David Curson beat out Kerry Bentivolio to serve the rest of Thaddeus McCotter's term.

Republican Kerry Bentivolio may have won the general election Tuesday to represent Michigan's 11th District in Congress, but he lost the special election to fill the remainder of Thaddeus McCotter's term. Democrat David Curson beat Bentivolio and will serve the rest of McCotter's term, which ends Dec. 31. Bentivolio will take over in January for a two-year term. His seat has been vacant for the past four months. Curson received 159,267 votes, or 51 percent of the vote, and Bentivolio received 151,740 …

Perhaps this http://whitelake.patch.com/articles/white-lake-s-greg-baroni-eager-to-continue-work-as-supervisor is the article/thread to which WLT's comments might best apply? Either way, it would appear now-Sen. Kowall was supervisor during much of that time. If anyone has a good time-frame for when these various sewer projects were funded/started and budgetted, I can try to piece together who …   more ›

"We're going to go to Washington, and we're going to represent the 11th District like it's never been represented before," he said. As of …

It's worth stating that Dr Taj did extraordinarily well considering the demographic of the district and the fliers that were mailed claiming his affiliation with Marxists. Crazy.   more ›

The unions were not entirely blameless. However, to say "the unions killed Hostess" and then somehow blaming that on Obama and/or Obamacare is disingenuous. You did not address how management squandered the millions of investment dollars and union concessions, you did not address the 6 CEOs since 2004 or the pillaging of millions of dollars for raises and golden parachutes for the upper …   more ›

Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The campaign Obama won was the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from President Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. The race tightened during the final months of the campaign, with gaffes and …
