First Huron Valley Unplugged Event Well Attended

Organizers call the event, aimed at getting kids outdoors, a success.

The Huron Valley Unplugged Club got off to a great start on Saturday morning in the Proud Lake Recreation Area in Commerce.

Fifteen families came out to enjoy the Nature Alphabet Hike around the Marsh Trail on a sunny Saturday morning.

More than 20 kids from Highland, White Lake, Milford and Commerce Townships, accompanied by their parents, had fun on the hike lead by Emily Senese from Building Blocks Pre-School.

The families enjoyed a leisurely hike around the marsh looking for something square, something round, something that grows and something that you can eat to name, just to name a few things from the Nature Alphabet Hike scavenger hunt list. The kids took digital pictures that will be shared on an upcoming website.

The Huron Valley Unplugged Club has partnered with Heavner Nature Connection to provide a free, fun filled family eco-adventure the second Saturday of each month. All residents are invited to join the club on Saturday, April 9 for letterboxing in from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  For more information visit www.heavnernatureconnections.org and the Heavner Nature Connection Facebook page.  You can also contact Emily Senese at 248-889-2727 or email Emily at emily@buildingblocksschool.com
