Meals On Wheels Needs Holiday Driver Volunteers

Volunteer your time this holiday season and deliver meals to to the home-bound elderly and disabled people living in your neighborhood.

If you can spare two hours to deliver meals, then the Western Oakland Meals On Wheels Program needs you! We can use your help delivering meals to the home-bound elderly and disabled people living in your neighborhood.

You can be the one who brightens someone’s day by knocking on their door and delivering a nutritious meal.

Volunteers do more than simply deliver a meal. They also provide a quick check in, a connection to the community and a warm smile. Often, the volunteer is the only person a meal recipient may see all day.

Western Oakland Meals On Wheels is dedicated to ensuring that every member of the community has access to nutritious meals so he or she can continue living independently. The Meals on Wheels program serves over 600 seniors each day in Western Oakland County with the help of local contributors and volunteers. Our program assists those who are unable to prepare nutritious meals for themselves because of age, illness, or disability. No one is denied meals because of an inability to pay. It’s our volunteers that make this critical service possible.

We believe that the meal recipient isn’t the only one who benefits when you deliver meals individually or as a team. We think you will, too. Many thanks for your invaluable help.
