Thursday Night Concert Benefits Dillon 'Storms' Bond; Mom Updates Condition

Dillon Bond is no longer in a medically induced coma, but is still not awake. His family asks that his friends and Xbox players continue to #Pray4Storms.

If you’re looking for something to do tonight, The Juarez Sisters Band, a local teen rock band, is planning a fundraiser at 8 p.m. at Billy’s Tip-N-Inn to benefit 14-year-old Dillon Bond, who was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on Dec. 13.

Billy’s Tip-N-Inn is located at 6707 E Highland Road, White Lake.

Members of the band are friends with Dillon, who goes by the hash tag  “Storms” when playing Xbox. Messages with the #Pray4Storms hash tag are giving virtual support to the family.

Dillon’s mother, Rebecca, posted on the Pray for Storms Facebook page Thursday that while her son is no longer in a medically induced coma, he is not awake.

His medical team planned to discontinue intubation today and nasal feeding tube. Other procedures will be performed to protect his airway and allow him to continue receiving nutrition.

“The family continues to be hopeful for Dillons’ progress,” his mother posted. “The hardest part of this is realizing that every single day a tiny baby step is still holding no answers of what time will only tell us as to when Dillon will wake up and allow a full neurological assessment.”

She added: “Please continue to lift Dillon up in prayer for a miracle in healing his mind and strengthening his body.”
