You're Safer in White Lake Township Than Almost Anywhere Else in Michigan

The White Lake Citizens League has contributed to the low crime rate in White Lake Township, according to SafeWise.

Where’s one if the safest places to live in Michigan?

White Lake Township, which ranked 18th on the list of Michigan’s 50 safest cities released Wednesday the national security organization SafeWise.

“Considered part of the Detroit metropolitan Aarea, White Lake Township is situated in close proximity to several metropolitan areas, including Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and Saginaw. White Lake grew by nearly 10 percent between 2000 and 2010, and proudly boasts low crime rates, like no murders or manslaughters reported in 2012.

“The low crime rates can be attributed, in part, to the White Lake Citizens League, a non-profit organization established in 1961. Representing more than 600 property owners in the area, the League’s purpose is to 'enhance the beauty and quality of life' throughout White Lake.”
