Huron Valley Council for the Arts Van Go Tour: Pewabic Pottery

Huron Valley Council for the Arts’ March Van Go Tour on Thursday March 31, features a visit to Pewabic Pottery.

The van trip departs from HVCA, 205 W. Livingston Road in Highland Township, at 9:30 a.m.

A Pewabic docent takes participants on an in-depth journey through Pewabic's history, including a look at the exhibit, Journey of a Pioneering Spirit: The Life of Mary Chase Perry Stratton as well as early Pewabic pieces in the museum and a walk through the fabrication studio giving the opportunity to see artisans creating Pewabic wares from start to finish.

Visitors receive an introduction to Pewabic Pottery’s tile showroom and see current custom projects; in addition, they have the chance to see the pottery’s studio artist gallery, which includes fine contemporary ceramics by more than 70 North American artists as well as to make their own tiles in the education studio.

Cost for transportation, tour and tile creation class is $27.
