Movie in the Park

The annual White Lake Movie in the Park takes place this Saturday, July 9.

The event starts at 7 p.m. at Judy Hawley Park, located right behind and the . If the weather is bad, the event will be canceled – there will not be a make-up date.

The movie on July 9 is How to Train Your Dragon. Oakland County's mobile recreation unit will be on hand at the park to provide activities for the kids leading up to the movie which will start at dusk and be shown on a giant screen in the park.

There will be a second Movie in the Park on August 20 where the movie Secretariat will be shown. Oakland County mobile recreation will also be at this event and the same rules apply to food, beverage and grills.

The event is organized by White Lake Township's Parks and Recreation Committee.

Families can bring lawn chairs, blankets, popcorn and beverages to the event. Barbecue grills are not allowed, however.

The event is free, but the public is invited to bring canned goods which will be donated to charity.
