The Detroit Creativity Project and Y Arts Detroit present Teen Improv Showcase

Y Arts Detroit is thrilled to host a showcase featuring performances by amazing students from Western International High School and Cass Technical High School.

In 2012, Y Arts Detroit, the arts and humanities branch of the Boll Family YMCA, has had the great fortune of partnering with a new organization – The Detroit Creativity Project – a collective of Detroit-loving creatives:  actors, improvisers, writers, and directors now living in Los Angeles who believe in the power of improvisation, and in the youth of Detroit.

In the last ten weeks, The Detroit Creativity Project and Y Arts have taught classes in theatrical and comedic improvisation in three area schools: Western International High School, Cass Technical High School, and ACE Academy. In addition to the creative benefits students experience from this instruction, they also gain communication, listening and teamwork skills that bolster future career and interpersonal successes.
