“Was that Holly Hunter?”
That’s a question metro Detroit residents may be asking with the announcement Thursday that Hunter is joining an ensemble cast for an untitled Superman-Batman that will be filmed in Pontiac beginning this month, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The yet unnamed film is a sequel to “Man of Steel," the 2013 blockbuster that earned $668 million worldwide at the box office.
Star-gazers have already been told to be on the lookout for Henry Cavill (Batman), Ben Affleck (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and “Man of Steel” actors Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
A character is being created for Hunter, one of director Zack Snyder’s favorite actresses, according to Warner Bros. Snyder also directed “Man of Steel.”
Also announced were two additional cast members, actors Callan Mulvey of “300: Rise of an Empire” and Tao Okamoto of “The Wolverine.”
The project will be filmed at the Michigan Motion Pictures Studios in Pontiac and other locations in the region and state.
