Viewfinder: Earth Friendly Family Fun Festival 2011

The 3rd annual Earth Family Fun Festival 2011 was held on Sunday afternoon at the Carls Family YMCA before a large number of families and friends from Huron Valley. The Earth friendly event was put on by the Green Team of Huron Valley and the Carls Family YMCA. Families enjoyed a series of environmental learning stations, earth friendly vendors, bands, a green fashion show and storytelling.  The festival offered interactive experiences focused on how we can come together to keep the Huron Valley area clean and green. The YMCA Sneaker 500 featured race cars made of cardboard boxes in three heats before a packed crowd in the gym. Many families picked up free seedlings from Mother Nature and participated in Drumminty which featured rhythmic fun for everyone. Many participants also recycled cell phones and chargers for our armed forces.
