Highland Elementary Alerts Parents to Report of Man Who Approached Student

"The driver asked the student if he would help him look for his missing cat," Principal Patrick Borg wrote in an e-mail Monday.

A Highland Elementary fourth-grader reported that he was approached Monday morning at a bus stop by a man driving a silver car.

"The driver asked the student if he would help him look for his missing cat," Principal Patrick Borg wrote in an e-mail to parents. "The boy left the bus stop immediately and sought assistance. The MHS School Resource Officer is investigating the incident."

Earlier this month, the Huron Valley School district issued a warning about a man who reportedly talked to a student while the student was waiting for the bus near Ridge Road and England Beach in White Lake. Anyone with information was urged to contact the White Lake Police Department at 248-698-4400.

Anyone with information or questions about the Highland Elementary incident is asked to contact Borg at 248-684-8070 or via e-mail.
