Good morning, White Lake and Highland, here's what you need to know about today.
1. The weather
The National Weather Service says we can expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 82. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 58.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Monday night was $3.50 per gallon at the gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.45.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1925, the so-called "Monkey trial" began. This was the trial of a Tennessee history teacher by the name of John Thomas Scopes, who was accused of violating state law and teaching students the theory of evolution. He was found guilty and ordered to pay a fine of $100. Two years later, the verdict was overturned on a technicality.
