The National Weather Service says we can expect sunshine and a high of 88 in the White Lake area. Thursday evening's low will be about 65.

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Wednesday night was $3.87 per gallon at the and the on Highland Road. In Highland, the Citgo at 2650 S Milford Rd. had the lowest price at $3.41.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1984, Geraldine Ferraro - a member of the House of Representative from New York - was selected to be Walter Mondale's running mate in his quest for the presidency of the United States. The Democrat became the first woman to be nominated as a vice presidential candidate by a major party. She and Mondale were defeated by Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
