Name: Nancy McDaniel

Business: Formula for Fitness

Located: White Lake

Founded: 2007

How did your business come to be?: I have two daughters and I wanted to find a part time job that allowed me to be home with them after school. I looked into several home based businesses but most of them required a lot of computer time. I am a very active person and sitting at a computer did not appeal to me.

I love health and fitness, and I have always exercised so becoming a personal trainer was a natural choice.

Why did you choose the White Lake-Highland area?: I have lived in White Lake for 21 years and I wanted to work in my community.

What kind of services do you offer?: I am an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. I specialize in fitness for older adults and in fitness nutrition. I train clients at Powerhouse Gym in Highland, on Milford Road, I also offer in home training. I offer private and semi private sessions.

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?: I design specific training programs for each individual. I have worked with tournament golfers, and 75-year-olds who have trouble walking. I enjoy working with all fitness levels.

What do you want your business to be best known for?: I want my clients to get results. Whether they are trying to improve their golf game, increase their upper body strength, or simply lose weight. I want them to feel strong and healthy. Health is not a number on a scale, or on a tape measure it's a matter of feeling good and doing all the things you want to do.

What's your most popular product or service?: My personal training services.
