Szott M-59 Toyota Gives New Car to Highland Non-Profit

Highland's Freedom Work Opportunities will use new Toyota vehicle to help empower adults with disabilities.

Szott M-59 Toyota has presented a Toyota Sienna to Freedom Work Opportunities, as part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program, a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving away 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days, based on votes from the public. 100 Cars for Good is the first Toyota initiative that engages the public to determine how corporate philanthropic donations will be awarded.

During the voting phase, which began May 14, 2012, the 100 Cars for Good program profiles five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com. Individual members of the public are able to vote for which nonprofit they believe can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day wins one of six Toyota models. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.

“Szott M-59 Toyota and the Szott Family have been proud to be a part of this community since 2000,” said Todd Szott, from Szott M-59 Toyota. “Throughout that time, we’ve supported the community in many ways, and we are delighted to be a part of the 100 Cars for Good program, and applaud the incredible work that Freedom Work Opportunities provides to our community.”

Freedom Work Opportunities empowers adults with disabilities, through compassionate care and vocational training, while providing freedom to obtain work skills and opportunities to feel safe and be valued. The Toyota Sienna will help Freedom Work Opportunities transport these adults with disabilities to their opportunities.

“This has truly been an amazing experience.” Said Marie Tino, Marketing Director at Freedom Work Opportunities. “Toyota’s generosity will make an incredible difference in Freedoms ability to help our community. Thank you to everyone at Szott M-59 Toyota for making us feel so welcome and to all of the wonderful people who voted for us.”

“At Toyota, we appreciate what a significant impact a new car can have for nonprofits in their work,” noted Michael Rouse, vice president of diversity, philanthropy and community affairs for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “All 100 of the winners of the 100 Cars for Good program are providing extraordinary and much-needed services, and we thank Szott M-59 Toyota for their role in delivering Freedom Work Opportunities’ car to them to help them with their important work.”

A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services. To learn more about the 100 Cars for Good program, please visit www.100carsforgood.com.
