Spring Break, Prom Brings Busiest Season for Tanning Salon

Manager of B Tan recommends two weeks of tanning for a solid base tan.

With spring break and prom season just around the corner, one local tanning salon says they are quickly approaching their busiest time of year.

Located in Highland, Tina Green, manager of B Tan, said that customers looking to get their base tans for upcoming trips or simply get that “glowing” look for Prom are starting to flock to her location. 

“We have a variety of people coming in here,” Green said. “It’s not just teenagers.”

Recommending that people begin the tanning process slowly, Green says clients should visit every other day for at least two weeks for a solid base tan.

“They start at five minutes and depending on if they aren’t pink or burning, they can go up two minutes each time,” she said.

Although B Tan doesn’t offer spray tans, the Highland location has 10 tanning beds available and Green says the wait time is minimal, with no need for call-ahead appointments.

For students preparing for Prom, the store also offers Prom accessories such as jewelry, handbags and glittery hair clips to accent a fun Prom hair-do.
