Three empty store fronts will soon become home to White Lake Township's newest businesses ― a bakery, a beauty supply store and a baby consignment store.
"We're hoping to open before Thanksgiving," said Cindy Liebau, of White Lake, who owns the bakery with Susan Waterman, of Commerce Township.
She said this is the first location for the store and the builders said it will take at least 45 days to complete. Liebau said there are not many decent bakeries in the area. She said everything will be homemade.
"We want to make a product that is going to taste really, really good," she said. "We'll have cupcakes, wedding cakes, tortes, pies, bread, muffins, biscotti and we’re going to have chocolate goods."
Liebau said they also plan to have enough space to teach culinary classes and host bridal showers and other parties in the store.
GG's Beauty Supply will be next to the bakery on Highland Road in Copperfield Plaza.
White Lake Township planner Jason Iacoangeli said GG's is likely to be similar to Sally Beauty Supply stores. The space is 1,600 square feet, he said.
"Both of those were already empty. They had never been filled," Teresa Stinson, executive secretary in White Lake Township's Community Development Department, said about the empty spaces in Copperfield Plaza.
The Rugrat Resale and Consignment space used to be the home of Flowers of the Lakes, which moved across the street, Stinson said.
Iacoangeli said there are no other businesses moving to White Lake Township.
Rugrat Resale and Consignment will have its grand opening Nov. 5.
