How did your business come to be?: We began as a volunteer program, run during the lunch hour, at Heritage Elementary School - one director with many parent helpers. The next year we started running seasonal classes with performances at the conclusion of the session, through the Huron Valley Recreation & Community Education program. In the last couple of years we have performed two audition based shows per year (fall, winter), using Milford High School's Little Theatre. Some of our performances include: Annie Jr., The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella and coming this spring, Disney's The Little Mermaid. We offer a very fun summer theatre camp and have performed at the Milford Memories and the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Moving forward, this fall while we are still offering classes (workshops) through HVRC, we have put up a shingle...well, sort of. The Performing Arts Drama Studio will be offering classes at our new location in Karen's School of Dance. We have made great strides over the years and have come to establish a wonderful production team, parent and community supporters, along with many amazing actors to light up the stage. We are very excited about our future productions!

Why did you choose the White Lake-Highland area?: This is my hometown.

What kind of services do you offer?: The following is our Mission Statement: "The Performing Arts Drama Company teaches children the techniques of acting; articulation, characterization, memorization, relaxation, projection, imagination and improvisation. In a fun and nurturing environment, we provide a premiere education in the performing arts, preparing a confident student to send up the road to stardom, wherever they choose to shine!"

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?: Starting this fall we will be offering acting and vocal classes at our new location, The Performing Arts Drama Studio, located in Karen's School of Dance at 1185 South Milford Road in Highland. We currently have classes available for ages 3 and up for beginner through advanced acting. Our vocal classes are offered for private, semi-private and group lessons.

What do you want your business to be best known for?: Wow... so many things! Performers having fun, in a supportive (family-like) environment, gaining confidence to put on the best shows in town!

What's your most popular product or service?: Having fun! The classes and rehearsals are a riot and the productions are electrifying.
