White Lake Urgent Care to Open Feb. 6

St. Joseph Mercy Oakland will host a grand opening event at its White Lake location in March.

White Lake's newest business, the St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Urgent Care, is expected to open Feb. 6.

The urgent care will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to a release from the hospital.

"Besides treatment for non-emergency injuries and illnesses, the White Lake location will offer outpatient rehabilitation (which is moving from Union Lake to this new location) and occupational medicine, general imaging and laboratory services. A physician’s order is required to receive rehabilitation, imaging or laboratory services," the release states.

The facility will be staffed by board-certified family medicine physicians who can be reached by calling 248-758-7800.

  • Minor asthma-related symptoms and bronchitis
  • Minor cuts or animal bites
  • Broken bones or sprains
  • Skin rashes, sunburns and minor burns
  • Fever
  • Upper respiratory and sinus infections
  • Illness with nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Eye infections, pink eye, sties
  • Bladder infections
  • Skin infections (such as impetigo, cold sores and athlete’s foot)

In addition, outpatient rehabilitation (physical/occupational therapy and speech and language pathology) services will be available weekdays at the White Lake location from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. A community open house will be held March 3 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the center, located in the Village Lakes plaza off M-59 east of Elizabeth Lake Road. The event is open to the public and will include lunch, tours of the facility, giveaways and a chance for people to meet the staff.

Plans for the urgent care were announced in November by Supervisor Greg Baroni, "They had to halt the plans on the medical building meant for the area next to the and when the economy tanked, but they really wanted to have a presence in White Lake and decided to move ahead on the 64,000 square feet urgent care," he said.
