Good morning, White Lake, here's what you need to know about today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 56. Monday night there will be a chance of rain showers before 2 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Sunday night was $3.77 per gallon at the gas station.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1865, at Appomattox, Virginia, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered his 28,000 troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War. Forced to abandon the Confederate capital of Richmond, blocked from joining the surviving Confederate force in North Carolina, and harassed constantly by Union cavalry, Lee had no other option.
