1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect partly sunny skies, with a high near 72. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 53.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Sunday night was $3.89 per gallon at the Meijer gas station. In Highland, the Mobil station on M-59, west of Milford Road, had the lowest gas price, $3.93.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1911, a dispatcher in the New York Times office sends the first telegram around the world via commercial service. Exactly 66 years later, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sends a different kind of message--a phonograph record containing information about Earth for extraterrestrial beings--shooting into space aboard the unmanned spacecraft Voyager II.
