Good morning, White Lake and Highland, here's what you need to know about today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect sunny skies, with a high near 83. Wdnesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Wednesday night was $3.87 per gallon at the Meijer gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.76.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1902, pioneering cookbook author Fannie Farmer, who changed the way Americans prepare food by advocating the use of standardized measurements in recipes, opens Miss Farmer's School of Cookery in Boston. In addition to teaching women about cooking, Farmer later educated medical professionals about the importance of proper nutrition for the sick.
