1. The weather
The National Weather Service says we can expect sunny skies, with a high near 89. Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Monday night was $3.99 per gallon at the Meijer gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road at Hickory Ridge had the lowest gas price, $3.91.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1947, Kon-Tiki, a balsa wood raft captained by Norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl, completes a 4,300-mile, 101-day journey from Peru to Raroia in the Tuamotu Archipelago, near Tahiti. Heyerdahl wanted to prove his theory that prehistoric South Americans could have colonized the Polynesian islands by drifting on ocean currents.
