1. The weather
The National Weather Service says we can expect a slight chance of showers before 11 a.m. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 79. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 59.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Thursday night was $3.55 per gallon at the gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.47.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1969, at 10:56 p.m. EDT, American astronaut Neil Armstrong, 240,000 miles from Earth, speaks these words to more than a billion people listening at home: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Stepping off the lunar landing module Eagle, Armstrong became the first human to walk on the surface of the moon.
