Good morning, White Lake and Highland, here's what you need to know about today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect partly sunny skies, with a high near 86. Monday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Sunday night was $3.61 per gallon at the gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.55.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signs Medicare, a health insurance program for elderly Americans, into law. At the bill-signing ceremony, which took place at the Truman Library in Independence, Missouri, former President Harry S. Johnson wanted to recognize Truman, who, in 1945, had become the first president to propose national health insurance, an initiative that was opposed at the time by Congress.
