1. The weather
The National Weather Service says we can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 97. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Tuesday night was $3.59 per gallon at the gas station. In Highland, the Citgo station on Milford Road had the lowest gas price, $3.53.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Continental Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence, which proclaims the independence of the United States of America from Great Britain and its king. The declaration came 442 days after the first volleys of the American Revolution were fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts and marked an ideological expansion of the conflict that would eventually encourage France's intervention on behalf of the Patriots.
