1. The weather
The National Weather Service says we can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Skies will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 61.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Wednesday night was $3.66 per gallon at the gas station.
3. On this day in history
According to History.com, in 1964, Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman, and James Chaney are killed by a Ku Klux Klan lynch mob near Meridian, Mississippi. The three young civil rights workers were working to register black voters in Mississippi, thus inspiring the ire of the local Klan. The deaths of Schwerner and Goodman, white Northerners and members of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), caused a national outrage.
