Good morning, White Lake, here's what you need to know about today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect a chance of rain, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. with a high near 48. Friday night there will be rain before midnight, then a chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible, with a low around 32.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Thursday night was $3.79 per gallon at the gas station.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1904, Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss, the author and illustrator of such beloved children's books as "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham," was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. Geisel, who used his middle name (which was also his mother's maiden name) as his pen name, wrote 48 books--including some for adults--that have sold well over 200 million copies and been translated into multiple languages. Dr. Seuss books are known for their whimsical rhymes and quirky characters, which have names like the Lorax and the Sneetches and live in places like Hooterville.
