The National Weather Service says we can expect a chance of flurries. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 36 degrees. Thursday night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low around 25 degrees.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Wednesday night was $3.35 per gallon at the gas station located at M-59 and Teggerdine.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1777, Congress submits the Articles of Confederation to the states for ratification. The Articles had been signed by Congress two days earlier, after 16 months of debate. Bickering over land claims between Virginia and Maryland delayed final ratification for almost four more years. Maryland became the last state to approve the Articles on March 1, 1781, affirming them as the outline of the official government of the United States. The nation was guided by the document until the implementation of the current U.S. Constitution in 1789.

LaFontaine Charity Bash 2011, presented by Lady La's Boutique, is a fun, affordable evening to benefit Imerman Angels, a one-on-one cancer support group starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC, 4000 W. Highland Road in Highland. Casino begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a fashion runway at 7:30 p.m. In addition, select vehicles are on display from the Lingenfelter Car Collection. Hors d'oeuvres and spirits are included as refreshments. Tickets are $20 and are available in advance at LaFontaine Automotive or at the door.
