Good morning, White Lake, here's what you need to know about today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service says we can expect a 20 percent chance of rain. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 43. Monday night skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 30 degrees.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the White Lake area as of Sunday night was $3.25 per gallon at the gas station located off M-59.

3. On this day in history

According to History.com, in 1980, 350 million people around the world tuned in to television's popular prime-time drama "Dallas" to find out who shot J.R. Ewing, the character fans loved to hate. J.R. had been shot on the season-ending episode the previous March 21, which now stands as one of television's most famous cliffhangers. The plot twist inspired widespread media coverage and left America wondering "Who shot J.R.?" for the next eight months. The November 21 episode solved the mystery, identifying Kristin Shepard, J.R.'s wife's sister and his former mistress, as the culprit.

5. Boys' Varsity Swim and Dive Starts Nov. 21

Anyone interested in joining the Lakeland Varsity Boys Swim and Dive team is invited to the first day of practice Monday, Nov. 21. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to learn! There are no cuts for the team: anyone can join. We are always looking for new team members! All athletes should report to the pool deck at 3 p.m. sharp, already dressed in dryland workout clothes - shoes, shorts & t-shirt, and water bottle (use the swim locker room). Swim practice will immediately follow dryland. Bring a suit & goggles. Divers should report to dryland as well.
