Freezing Rain Expected in White Lake and Highland

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for Oakland County.

If you plan to head out tonight, be careful - the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for the area.

The advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing drizzle is expected to increase over the area, including White Lake and Highland, through at least midnight. In addition there might be light snow accumulations and patchy, light ice accumulations.

  • Freezing drizzle will produce dangerous travel... especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.
  • Untreated surfaces will continue to become slick and hazardous as light ice accumulations occur.

  • A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
